About

PACID is comprised of over 180 families with adult or nearly adult children who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (ID/D). Most members are from Orange County.

PACID is free and open to all interested parties. It receives no funding. In addition to families it also includes several dozen government and nonprofit entities, such as those representing group homes or others affiliated with affordable housing, day services, and advocacy.

PACID has 4 Goals

Keep members up to date on current topics in the news

Expand Medicaid waivers and housing volume and options

Current Activities of PACID include:

  • Monthly informational meetings between parents and providers or advocates
  • Send weekly emails with current information on housing, seminars, and other topical issues
  • A survey of best practices in ID/D housing from around the country
  • Meetings with community leaders, developers, and others who might offer affordable housing opportunities
